Bosch Fuel Injection and Engine Management

$29.95

This is the authoritative handbook on Bosch Fuel Injection and Engine Management Systems. This is the only manual that fully explains aspects of the most widely installed Bosch systems, including specific technical information on the newest KE-Motronic and LH-Motronic systems that is not available from any other source. Bosch Systems covered: Motronic LH-Motroniv L-Jetronic LH-Jetronic KE-Jetronic KE-Motronic K-Jetronic D-Jetronic Author Charles Probst has worked directly with factory engineers and technicians from Bosch, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Audi, and other manufacturers to produce down-to-earth but detailed technical literature for real-world technicians. Now complete service and maintenance procedures, with Chuck's expert advice and troubleshooting tips, are available to you. Chuck clarifies advantages and operating principles of each Bosch system and explains how they work. He also gives you high performance tuning secrets that really work for street and racing applications, and tells you why some tricks, like ''fooling'' the computer, don't. With over 350 illustrations and photos, this 224-page book is a must-have reference for do-it-yourself mechanics, performance enthusiasts, and professional technicians who want to understand Bosch systems. Features: Fuel Injection Training & Theory: How each system works Engine Management Systems: How they differ from Fuel Injection Systems How to troubleshoot problems and service each subsystem Tools and equipment are needed How to adjust and control engine idle speed How to adjust air-fuel mixture How engine management systems adjust timing for gasoline octane and turbo boost Racing and high performance modifications: what works and what doesn't

Fuel injection is a system for mixing fuel with air in an internal combustion engine. It has become the primary fuel delivery system used in gasoline automotive engines, having almost completely replaced carburetors in the late 1980s. A fuel injection system is designed and calibrated specifically for the type(s) of fuel it will handle. Most fuel injection systems are for gasoline or diesel applications. With the advent of electronic fuel injection (EFI), the diesel and gasoline hardware has become similar. EFIs programmable firmware has permitted common hardware to be used with different fuels. Carburetors were the predominant method used to meter fuel on gasoline engines before the widespread use of fuel injection. A variety of injection systems have existed since the earliest usage of the internal combustion engine. The primary difference between carburetors and fuel injection is that fuel injection atomizes the fuel by forcibly pumping it through a small nozzle under high pressure, while a carburetor relies on low pressure created by intake air rushing through it to add the fuel to the airstream. This volume takes you from the basic operation of the carburetor and fuelling theory to the most sophisticated electronically controlled fuel injection in use today. Divided into two main parts, theory and practical tasks, detailed text covers the common carburetor and injection system types (including older designs), plus their supporting components such as air filters, fuel pumps and sensors. Practical advice covers overhaul, set up and the use of diagnostic equipment, plus an entire section on fault finding.

Fuel Management Controller

Fuel Management Controller

$200.99

Wiseco Fuel Management Controller Wiseco’s new Electronic Fuel Injection Controllers are simple and easy to use. With the push of a button, you can easily adjust fuel flow for modifications such as high compression pistons, cams, intake, and exhaust to fine tune your bike. There is no dyno or computer needed! It gives you three basic zones of operation, similar to a carburetor. One zone sets your ‘pilot jet’ for idle and cruise. Another zone sets your ‘needle jet’ for acceleration, and a third zone sets your ‘main jet’ for heavy loading and wide open throttle. Features: Plug N’ Play installation Easy push button operation Easy air/fuel ratio adjustment 3 basic zones of operation Uses OEM base code Benefits: Simple to use and understand No computer or dyno required Easily adjusts for modifications - intake, exhaust, cams, etc. Similar to carburetors Does not scramble base code For Universal Mount Click Here
