The recent huge increases in the price of gas, caused by world oil prices, has brought a number of Water Powered Car Kits on to the market. If you're anything like the rest of us average motorists, you'll be suffering from the hike in the cost of filling your gas tank, so you'll probably be interested in finding out more. So what ARE Water Power Conversion Kits, and do they really work? Let's find out!
The short answer to whether or not they work is, yes! A friend of mine was persuaded to try fitting one to his '97 Dodge - he figured the truck was so old, he couldn't do it any harm! He bought the conversion kit to enable him to run his vehicle on water, spent an afternoon fitting it. He's not a professional mechanic or anything, but had no problems at all. He then tried it out, and over the course of a month, his average fuel consumption went down by around 40% - saving him over a hundred bucks - that's more than the kit cost, so he's already up on the deal!
So how do they work? OK, let's get one thing straight, these kits don't really enable you to run your car or truck completely on water. What they do is extract the Hydrogen and Oxygen from water (remember water is H2O), and turn it into HHO gas which is fed into your engine along with the normal gas fuel. The added gases increase the efficiency of the engine, which leads to a dramatic increase in fuel economy.
